Project Horizon
Project Horizon is a University of Hartford community outreach initiative that serves poor families and children with hands-on caring and education. Through the College of Education , Nursing and Health Professions, faculty, staff and students work in partnership with community members. We are present in homeless shelters, soup kitchens, neighborhood centers, transitional living centers and schools. Focusing on health, quality of life and social advocacy, Project Horizon makes over 2000 contacts per year in Hartford and beyond. Project Horizon has a unique way of serving vulnerable groups by sharing knowledge and resources from the entire university. Service learning internships and volunteer experiences are available.
